Default Oso's Channeling Build.

I posted this in another thread, but would like feedback on it in case I'm doing things wrong.

Destruction -- Quick recharge, decent bonus damage with the explosion.
Gaze From Beyond -- Great damage using spirits, even with the nerf.
Spirit Boon Strike -- Decent damage, and heals spirits for more than the GfB cost.
Essence Strike -- Gives energy back in presence of spirits, almost enough for two nukes.
Spirit Burn -- Added damage in the presence of spirits.
Pain -- Secondary backup spirit in case Destruction goes down. It stays up for a long time.
Weapon of Quickening -- Personal preference...quickens the recharge timers, and lasts a while. "Free" spot.
Flesh of my Flesh -- Fantastic rez spell.

Channeling -- 12
Communing -- 12
Spawning -- 3

This is pretty much used for pure damage. I have NOT tested this in PvP, someone tell me if it works (I am afraid of PvP, trying to warm myself up to it).

I've used Mighty Was Vorizun along with my +armor set (while holding an item) for a nice 55 armor bonus and 20 energy bonus.

I prefer Weapon of Quickening along with my +armor set (under weapon skill) in order to both cast my spells 25% faster AND to have +60 armor from the set.

One of the most key skill lies in Essence Strike, as it gives a great energy boost. At 12 Channeling, it'll give you back 7 Energy every 8 seconds.

I like how quick Destruction recharges, that's why it's there...plus if there are any people trying to sneak through to the back line, they'll get a nice surprise when it blows up. Pain is simply there as a backup because if it doesn't get killed, it lasts forever and a day (150ish seconds at max level, more than enough for a fight or two). There just needs to be a sprit around you in order to get the added benefits of all your spells...you can even do it if there's a spirit spammer in your group should your spirits go down.

This build runs into trouble in a couple places. The first, obviously enough, comes when your spirits are destroyed quickly. The only skills that aren't really hurt damage-wise are Spirit Boon Strike and Essence Strike, even though you don't get the energy bonus, and you can just spam them until your spirits come back online (with Weapon of Quickening, it doesn't take long until Destruction comes back) and you can get back to full strength.

The other place it comes into trouble is against energy-denial creatures, because this is a spamming build. It's a spamming build, through and through, and they always run into trouble with energy-denial mobs.

Questions? Comments? Dirty remarks? Let me have 'em. Thanks for reading.

"'Afraid of PvP"? Poor you

IMO there's something wrong with those attributes..you're running 2 spirits, so more spawning power would be usefull..

Maybe go pure channeling?

I like this build. I have tried a similar one, although I hate destruction. I have found it pretty much useless as it takes way to long to do any real damage. I prefer bloodsong due to its guaranteed damage. The 5 second cast time might not be for you though, so I see why you are using destruction.

As for spawning power, I only use a lot when I go pure communing or MM. I dont see what the big deal is, considering spirits will get pwned whether they have 200 hp or 150. (not sure what actual spirit hp is, but I think its around 150 at lvl 8)

I also use spirit rift instead of gaze. I stopped using gaze when they nerfed. I imagine a lot of people don't like the fact that spirit rift takes 5 seconds to do damage, but I love spamming this spell on enemy rits that are sitting on 4 spirits.

1. With a Sup rune, a + 1 attribute helm, and minor runes (and if you've done both +15 attribute point quests), you should be able to go 16 and 13 if you're using only 2 attributes. Otherwise you can go 12, 12, 12 if you want to spread them out.

2. Even with energy gain from Essence strike, this build runs low on energy.

3. I recommend Signet of Spirits as your elite if you're willing to bring 3 spirits. Otherwise I recommend Attuned Was if you're willing to put enough points (12 min) into this attribute. You can truly spam spells with this elite, and the energy gain from Essence strike is much more than it's cost.

4. Weapon of quickening will help with the recharge of your spells but with low energy this isn't of much use. If you really want the recharge you can try ghostly haste (although it's not as good as Weapon of Quickening) with one of the other above elites for energy management.
